Job Description : Job Purpose and Impact

The Merchant will lead all aspects of routine or standard merchandising work. In this role, you will monitor a supplier base and fulfill transactions, delivering commodities that meet production requirements and specifications in terms of timing, volume, quantity and cost. We seek a professional who will lead a team that buys and sells commodities from/to country elevators, producers, feed mills and processors. Key Accountabilities

Collaborate with transportation and logistics, quality assurance, customer managers and credit manager to ensure efficient execution.
Originate, procure and sell commodities and livestock to local customers to reach targetvolumes and gain revenue.
Work with the accounting and finance departments to resolve monthly contract and inventory valuations for a short-term strategy.
Research and analyze various freight opportunities in the marketplace to maximize margin.
Work directly with customers, suppliers and business counterparts to develop business solutions to meet their needs for a specific product.
Other duties as assigned
Responsible for personnel decisions related to hiring, performance and disciplinary actions for your direct reports. You will also spend time completing the same tasks as employees on your team. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
Minimum one year of directly related work experience
Other minimum qualifications may apply Preferred Qualifications
One year of supervisory experience
