Job Description : JOB POSTING – PASSPORT CLERK / BENSALEM BRANCH
Bucks County Free Library is seeking two part-time Passport Clerks to work in the Passport Office located at the Bensalem branch. The Passport office is designated by the State Department to accept and pre-process passport applications. Passport clerks are responsible for the review and intake of documents, forms and identification related to completing passport applications.
Job Summary: Processes U.S. applications. Reviews applicant information, ensures applications are completed and submitted correctly and timely, answers questions about passport applications, and follows up on problem applications. Keeps records of passport applications and activities following all regulations and requirements established by the Bucks County Free Library and the federal government. Works directly with the public. Provides general directional assistance to library users on regular library services. Performs all duties of a Customer Service Associate 1 as needed. This is a non-exempt bargaining unit position.
Minimum Requirements:

Requires a high school diploma or GED
One year related experience
Upon hire requires successful completion of Passport Application Acceptance training
Must be a US citizen 18 years of age or older with no record of either a Federal or State felony conviction or no misdemeanor conviction for crimes involving moral turpitude or breach of trust, including but not limited to embezzlement, identity theft, misappropriation, document fraud, drug offenses, or dishonesty in carrying out a responsibility involving public trust.
Must have current driver’s license, insurance, and own transportation or ability to travel among many library sites
Applicant must provide on date of hire the following three required clearances: PA State Police Criminal Record Check; PA Child Abuse History Clearance; and FBI fingerprint-based background check.

Schedule: Part time – 20 hours per week. Alternating schedules as follows:
Week 1: Monday 10:00 – 2:00; Tuesday 3:30 – 8:00; Wednesday 10:00 – 2:00; Thursday 10:30 – 6:00
Week 2: Monday 3:30 – 8:00; Tuesday 10:00 – 2:00; Wednesday 4:00 – 8:00; Saturday 9:30 – 5:00
Compensation: $18.03 per hour probationary rate; $18.58 per hour regular rate
