Job Description : The Personal Banker will greet customers with a smile, assess and satisfy their needs in a professional manner. The Personal Banker is also responsible for processing all new account transactions; assisting customers in their selection of various accounts and financial services; cross-selling the Bank’s products and services; opening, maintaining and closing of all account types; performing branch clerical duties; promotes business for the Bank by delivering superb customer service.Under the direction of the Consumer Loan Manager, the Personal Banker interviews customers, and helps applicants complete the Loan Application, answers loan questions on new and existing loans, and promotes loan products and services that best suites the customer’s needs.Duties include but not limited to: Deposit Accounts: Know the features and benefits for all checking accounts, savings accounts, money market accounts, health savings accounts, individual retirement accounts, and certificate of deposit accounts.Greet all customers immediately, meeting our Service Excellence Pledge standards.Build account relationships by effectively cross selling and referring additional products and services to the appropriate department.Accurately open any account with complete documentation and complete the follow up phone calls and thank you cards with the required timeframes. Complete MSB due diligence questions within streamline.Actively participate in the High Performance Growth (HPG) program including Branch HPG displays, Big Days, and Tell a Friend program. HPG inventory is maintained and RMS reporting is submitted weekly.Know how to use and set up Net Teller (online banking), Bill Pay and E-statements to be able to assist a customer. Order and follow-up on all check orders with check provider. Process Wire Transfers, and Safe Deposit Clerk.Follow up with customer(s) to complete pending items within the 30 day required period. Complete the necessary CIF maintenance when account relationships change. Issue and perform maintenance on VISA Instant Issue and Check Cards.Make the determination when a check is deposited into a new checking account if it will require a Reg CC Hold and be able to explain this to the customer. Be able to explain all new account disclosures associated with each retail product.Loan Duties:Promote the availability of credit to all creditworthy applicants without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, marital status, or age.Provide equal treatment to all applicants and provide the same information to all similarly situated borrowers when applying for a loan.Position will require Personal Banker to obtain an NMLS Number assigned by the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System & Registry, as required by law.Accept loan applications and help customers complete the loan application as needed, provide applicants the knowledge to make sound financial decisions.For CIP purposes and to prevent fraudulent activity, the Personal Banker will obtain current identification and note it on the loan application at the time of application.Provide customers with loan terms, rates, fees, and product knowledge.Ensure proper disclosures are provided at the time of application.Work closely with the Consumer Loan Dept. as a team to efficiently close all loans in a timely manner.Develop and maintain a relationship with loan customers to broaden the bank’s public image and promote additional products and services to obtain future business.Ensure we are compliant with state and federal regulations. Keep up to date on Loan Policy and all applicable loan procedures. It is extremely important to First Security Bank that we meet all compliance regulations.Work closely with the Consumer Loan Dept. with customer’s loan request from the time of application to loan closing.Must comply with all company policies and procedures and all applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.Must complete the assigned online training courses and achieve a passing score by due date.The preceding job description indicates the general nature and level of work performed by this position and does not contain all duties and responsibilities. Position performs other duties as assigned.Desired Minimum Qualifications: Combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field.One year prior bank experience preferredKnowledge, Skills and Abilities: Working knowledge of Bank products and services. Consumer lending functions, policies, and procedures.*Product knowledge on all loan products.State, federal, and industry banking compliance regulations and guidelines; applicable laws and regulations related to lending function.Computerized bank software applications (Jack Henry) is preferred; MS Word and Excel, and the Internet.Computer keyboard, photocopier, calculator, and other office machines used in performance of job duties.Ability to analyze, evaluate and interpret bank policies, federal regulations, and other technical information.Work in a professional manner and consistently demonstrate courtesy, customer service, and tact in a fast-paced/deadline-oriented environmentEffectively sell and cross sell the services and accounts offered by the Bank.
