Job Description : Hand and Hound Pet Sitting is looking for reliable pet sitters to join the family! My name is Alexis Campbell and I am the owner of Hand and Hound. After two years of successful business and surviving a difficult 2020 and 2021, I am so happy to need more pet sitters in order to meet demand and provide more clients with great service and happy pets!
Flexible schedule, part time, supplemental income perfect for anyone who loves pets AND people, and is looking to join a growing pet business whose goal is to provide neighborly care, but with more credentials!
Weekend availability is required (we will not work you every weekend! We strongly believe in work-life balance) and we do require employees to be available for overnight stays in client homes.

Hand & Hound Pet SittingJob Descriptions and Pay Rates
WALKS
Offered in 30-, 45-, and 60-minute intervals, H&H provides walks for up to three dogs. If you are booked for a walk, it is expected you are walking the dog(s) the whole time, leaving only a few minutes at the end to bring them inside the house and make sure they have water accessible to them and hopefully get a good drink from it (along with whatever the owner requests at the end of a walk). This typically happens if the owner is not home, or if you go inside the home to get the dog to begin with (i.e., a lot of work from home situations). Pet Sitter will be expected to be aware at all times of your surroundings and how a dog responds to certain stimuli. Pet Sitter will be trained on how to properly hold a leash for maximum control and safety to you. Pet Sitter will be expected to pick up and dispose of properly any dog poop that happens on the walk. Our job is to give the dog(s) the best walk experience they can have, sometimes even more fun and tiring than walks with their owner. I let the dogs sniff, and generally lead me where they like and maintain the pace they are comfortable with. I avoid the desert, other dogs, and people because of the risk of injury to myself or the dog(s). Because of Phoenix temperatures in the summertime making walks dangerous for dogs and their paws, a quick potty break outside and then playtime inside will be an alternative to the walk when temperatures reach above 90 degrees. Pet Sitter will spend the same amount of time with your dog as you would walking them. Typically hours are midday weekdays (10 AM-2 PM)
Pay Rate: $10.20, $13.20, $16.20
VISITS
Offered in 30-, 45-, and 60-minute intervals, H&H provides visits for up to three pets. This is similar to the walks offered, but of course without the walk (sometimes there is also a walk thrown in if the client requests, but generally it doesn’t and cannot be for the whole visit timeframe). Visits are typical if a pet just needs a potty break and someone to spend time with them and/or the client is out of town. Pet Sitter will be expected to do all the things the client requests, including, but not limited to, feeding the pet, making sure they have water, taking them for a potty break (dog)/litterbox cleanup (cat) and cleaning up any mess they may have made inside or outside the house, administering medicine, getting the mail/bringing in newspapers or packages, watering plants inside and outside the house, spending quality time petting and playing with pet(s), and updating the client on how their pet(s) are doing. Typically hours are AM & PM.
Pay Rate: $10.20, $13.20, $16.20
OVERNIGHTS
Offered for 12 consecutive hours (typically 6 PM-6 AM, or 7 PM-7 AM), H&H provides in- home overnight care for client pet(s) and home. Pet Sitter will provide all nightly and morning routines for the pet(s) and home that client requests, and sleep overnight in the home. Overnight includes all that would be required during a visit (see above), but with the extended companionship for the pet(s) and client home security/reassurance.
Pay Rate: $52.00; employee understands job includes an assumed eight hours of sleep, even if those eight hours are not spent sleeping. Exceptions would be paid based on time stamp if employee wakes up to tend to pet or home.
Jobs at Hand & Hound Pet Sitting serve as supplemental income, and are not meant as full-time positions. Pet Sitter is insured, bonded, and hired as an official employee with worker’s compensation benefit and flexible schedule.
