ABOUT THE POSITION:

The Probation Administration Supervisor provides leadership, supervisory functions, case flow management, quality control and administrative support to the Compliance and Supportive Services Division of Adult Probation. Currently there are openings for this position in the following units:

Records Support: oversees staff at the West Court Building, Southport office, and Garfield office.
Northeast Support: oversees staff at the Northport, Scottsdale, and Sunnyslope offices

Standard Judicial Branch hours are Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm. This position will allow for a telework schedule up to four days per week and may allow for a compressed workweek/alternative work schedule dependent on the needs of the Judicial Branch.

Note: The salary range listed above ($50,024.00 – $62,566.40) reflects the expected ENTRY salary range for this position based on experience and equity within the Judicial Branch. The FULL salary range of this position is $50,024.00 to $75,088.00 annually. This position is exempt under the FLSA.

Position Qualifications

:

Education:

High School diploma or GED

Experience:

Five (5) years of experience at the Probation Administration level or above

OR

Combined education and experience qualifications:

An equivalent combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the required experience on a year for year basis.

Other Requirements:

Familiar with Adult Probation Tracking System (APETS)
Integrated Court Information System (iCIS)
Current Terminal Operator Certification (TOC)
Must maintain a current Arizona Driver License and County Vehicle Use Permit.

Our Preferred Candidate has:

5 or more years of experience working in the Adult Probation Department
Prior lead and/or supervisory experience
Knowledge of the court process; an understanding of the Adult Probation Department; and knowledge field divisions

Supervisory practices and principles
Legal terminology
Principles and processes for providing customer and personal services including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction

Essential Job Tasks

Monitors daily operations; ensuring goals and objectives of the area are being met.
Supervise, organize, assess, and evaluate the workload of staff, modifying workload and staff assignments.
Actively participate in data quality improvement processes with iCIS, APETS and other programs.
Observe and address staff performance and assist with personnel investigations/actions.
Conduct unit meetings on a regular basis with staff; attend division meetings and quarterly managers’ forum.
Evaluate performance of staff, provide coaching and develop performance improvement plans.
Establishes performance goals and objectives for annual performance evaluations.
Use evidence-based practices and methodologies to guide staff to complete work in a timely manner.
Interview, conduct background checks, and provide recommendations for hiring staff.
Ensure completion of mandated COJET training for all staff.
Enforce compliance of the Minimum Accounting Standards.
Prepare monthly statistical reports.
Assist in policy writing.
Assists with internal and external customers, resolving customer concerns. Investigates and responds to complaints and requests for information or service in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Participate in committees/special projects and provides input to internal and external agencies.
Ensure necessary supplies are stocked and requests supplies as needed.
Generate memos, correspondence, and/or necessary paperwork.

Working conditions
:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak clearly and hear; see details of objects that are less than a few feet away; sit for long periods of time; stand, walk, use hands to finger handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and occasionally push, pull or lift up to 20 pounds.

Judicial Branch facilities are located throughout Maricopa County. This position may be reassigned to other locations. Assignments will be made based upon the needs of the department.
