DESCRIPTION
The Proctor is responsible for organizing and administrating UCSD School of Medicine (SOM) preclinical examinations in accordance with SOM Committee on Educational Policy, National Board of Medical Examiners, and the Liaison Committee on Medical Education. Exam proctor duties include monitoring students, beginning and ending the examination on time, distributing exams, and taking notice of unusual behaviors such as students leaving and re-entering the room or sitting out of assigned seating. The proctor is responsible for assisting with the associated set-up for exam spaces as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Demonstrated analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills: ability to exercise tact, discretion, and good judgment during interactions with diverse groups of people.
Demonstrated experience working independently.
Skill to identify student needs and potential problems and develop proposals for resolution.
Proven ability to work in a team environment and maintain professional demeanor.
Ability to maintain confidentiality as appropriate.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with and knowledge of Federal, State, LCME, AAMC and UC policies regarding aspects of medical school curriculum and student affairs.
Basic computer skills.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
Employment is subject to a criminal background check.
This is a 20% position. Must be able to work variable shifts.
Ability to lift/pull/push at least 25lbs.
