An excellent career opportunity is currently available for an Experienced Project Engineer within the UOP

IPL Equipment group of UOP’s Process Information & Control (PIC) group located in Gurugram. This

position affords a unique opportunity in a dedicated center to project manage and deliver custom control

systems in support of the organization’s global customer base. These control systems deliver optimal

performance for UOP process units.
PIC’s control systems have components of regulatory and batch control, advanced process control,

expert systems, DCS (Distributed Control Systems) Interfacing, and training simulators. PIC’s work

process involves staging and testing of its products with a dynamic simulator. PIC is involved in the

production and development of many different control systems that are sold to external customers. Each

member of the Project Engineering Group has the responsibility for ongoing development of existing

products and the support of the Software and Service Groups. Additionally the development of control

systems for new UOP processes are regularly undertaken by the group. The PIC department is

accountable for the production and development of custom control systems based on PLCs and PCs that

are sold to external customers.

Accountabilities of this position include:
Coordinate and customize control system projects from the standard product line from start to finish.
This will included designing and building control system projects to customer specifications. The projects

must be completed as per the contractual delivery date, to customer expectations, and within budget.

Assigned projects typically have unique requirements that require extensive related experience.
Maintenance and development of systems (ISO-9001) and resources (coaching & training) so the PIC
area can effectively transfer technology to the marketplace in a manner that maximizes value to UOP and

to our customers.

Optimizing project deliverables for the projects assigned by maximizing efficiency of the delivery process
through better methods, masters, systems, and tools and to minimize costs.

Regular reporting on the status of assigned projects both internally and directly to customers.
Review and approve design documentation for projects as assigned.
Typical tasks would be:

Conduct Project Orientation Meetings to set project scope, schedules, and deliverablesDeliver customized project specific installation drawings based on P&ID reviews and customer
site requirements
Evaluate equipment/components for potential inclusion in an SAP Bill of Material (BOM) for the
control system design
Complete control panel layout and wiring diagrams for the control systemOversee the control system assembly on the PIC Assembly floorPower-up units and support trouble-shooting of problems during the staging phase of the control
system project cycle.
Complete both Internal and Customer Acceptance Testing to assure the control system meets
expectations
Provide final documentation deliverables for the operating manual (EI&DB) as a closeout of the
project
Manage SAP networks for forecasting and Billing milestone accuracyThe successful candidate will meet the following requirements:
Basic Qualifications:
A Bachelor of Science degree, preferably Electrical, Instrumentation Engineering~8 years equivalent work experience required
Additional Qualifications (all other qualifications that do not fit in to the Basic Qualifications category)
Familiarity in PLC/DCS and/or Programming / Human Machine Interfaces is desiredDetailed understanding of control system electrical design technologyExcellent organizational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Good problem-solving skills are necessaryProcess Control background is a plusAbility to work in a collaborative team environment.SAP Familiarity a plusAbility to travel on short notices for project Orientation Meetings, FAT/SAT related activities,
anticipated travel 10-20%
