Position Overview
The Quality Analyst performs duties relating to laboratory quality assurance in accordance with CAP/CLIA guidelines. The Quality Analyst also works with the Operations/Quality Management to ensure compliance, updates SOPs, and documents discrepancies/incidents.
Essential Job Functions
Assists with maintaining SOPs and ensures they are up-to-date and have correct information; review as requested by management
Assists with troubleshooting for run data and reports
Investigates and document incidents and discrepancies within the laboratory and review/follow-up as required per laboratory policy
Maintains assay control logs, repeat logs, and reagent logs
Monitors turn-around time, sample volume, and workflow; ensures that the process is completed in a timely manner
Communicates with laboratory staff and IT about corrections or updates needed
Trains laboratory staff on proper QC/QA protocols; answers questions as needed
Maintains competency evaluation documentation and keep up-to-date records of all competencies completed
Attends QC/QA meetings and communicates information back to the laboratory staff
Understands and applies all QC/QA parameters to assay data, including accurate molecular assay data and metrics
Ensures all reports created have accurate and up-to-date information; performs QC/QA checks for all completed assay runs
Communicates failed/repeat samples, out of range values/quality trends, etc.
Assists with QC/QA areas of development and validation for new assays
Assists with the acquisition, evaluation, and analysis of QC/QA data during pre-analytical, analytics, and post-analytical operations
Ensures all documentation have their required signatures and are filed according to compliance regulations
Adheres to and understands CAP/CLIA guidelines
Maintains discretion and security of medical records and patient health information in accordance with HIPAA regulations
Performs other duties as assigned by management
Required Skills/Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (Biological Sciences/Genetics preferred)
2+ years of experience working within Quality areas in a clinical laboratory
Basic understanding of clinical operations
Understanding of LIMS processes and ability to learn new LIMS workflows
Ability to work productively, efficiently, independently in a fast-paced environment
Ability to multi-task and prioritize
Possess problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as listening skills
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products
Adheres to Artemis DNA’s safety and compliance policies and procedures
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 per hour
