Job Description : 1.0 TITLE
Quality Control Inspector
2.0 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for ensuring that the Company’s manufactured products meet customer, engineering and relevant Code standards and specifications.
Specific responsibilities may include:

Reviews the Quality inspection criteria for special jobs and identifies inspection hold/witness points.
Performs part/work pieces “first of” inspection dimensional checks to confirm that the required tolerances are being maintained. Inspections to be performed at the machine work station.
Performs random inspection to all orders to confirm compliance with internal and customer quality control standards.
Performs complete inspection to parts where inspection requirements and methods are beyond the capability of shop supervisory personnel and/or where directed by senior management.
Monitors, performs ongoing inspection to work by scheduling work for inspection on each shift. Inspection is performed at periodic intervals set by the QC Inspector and/or as requested by shop supervision.
Monitor, identify, and document substandard and/or non-conforming workmanship. Initial “hold” on all non-conformances and help to resolve.
Initiate corrective action when variances from specification or Code are detected.
Develop quality control information and collection systems to collect, analyze and identify ways to improve. Provide quality costing information and analyses to monitor quality and identify unfavorable trends.
Identify and resolve problems. Diagnosis of quality problems and implement programs to improve product quality.
Monitors the work procedure to ensure that they are in accordance with approved procedures.
Ensures that all recording devices and test equipment are accurately calibrated and functioning correctly, and that procedures for their use are developed, communicated are being followed.
Performs minor grinding polishing and other work to parts to bring them back into acceptable standards.
Ensure that material identification markings are transferred prior to the material/part being moved to the following phase of manufacture either by metal stamping or waterproof marker.
Examines material upon receiving to ensure that it meets the standards identified by the purchase order and/or industry standards and that it is correctly and sufficiently marked and identified throughout all phased of manufacture.
Participates as member of the Safety Committee when nominated.
Reviews drawings and work instructions; liaise with engineering, QA, Company management for clarification to ensure all parts are made and made correctly.
Coaches, trains, advises, and counsels machine operators and other Company personnel regarding production and related issues.
Conducts final inspections in the shipping area and performs pre-inspections where required on manufactured products to ensure all work is in accordance with Company standards, customer specifications, and applicable Codes.
Monitors subcontractor’s performance related to quality inspection and testing, initiates corrective action when variances are detected.
Ensures that appropriate reporting and communication systems and processes are in place and operating effectively to:
Keep the Company’s management and other operating and service departments informed of activities within the quality and production area; and
Facilitate effective communication processes within the production area.
Monitors the work area to ensure safe working conditions, takes corrective action when required.
Support and participate in FCI’s continual improvement program to conform ISO 9001:2015 requirements.
Comply with Quality Policy and procedures and meeting QMS objectives.
Other duties as assigned.

3.0 requirements
3.1 education and training

High School or equivalent preferred.

3.2 experience

Experience in manufacturing environment.
Experience working in an ISO 9001:2015 environment a plus.

3.3 KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Excellent verbal and written communication.
Working knowledge of ASME and API Codes and Standards.
Knowledge of related inspection, testing and measuring techniques.
Problem solving and trouble shooting.
Ability to read and interpret drawings.

3.4 PHYSICAL AND SAFETY

Sitting, bending, standing, walking, 8-10 hours per day.
Able to lift 50lbs. (may be different for office /administrative employees).
Must comply with all safety and PPE requirements.
Exposure with production environment

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 – $25.00 per hour

Experience:

Manufacturing in oil and gas: 3 years (Required)
Quality Control Inspectors in manufacturing oil and gas: 1 year (Required)

Day Shift (Preferred)
