Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Receiving, first-piece, in-process and final inspection activities (ensure that everything from raw materials to finished products meet quality and safety standards in the purchasing documentation, engineering standards (BES), and design standards
Read drawings, interpret dimensions and tolerances
Record inspection or test data, and quantities inspected
Reject products and materials not meeting specifications
Analyze drawings, data, manuals, and other materials to determine specifications, inspection and testing procedures, and measuring instruments required
Mark items with details of acceptance/rejection status
Measure dimensions of products to verify conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauges and micrometers
Directs and monitors inspection duties of at least one inspector of a lower rating
Performs assigned work using independently used predetermined methods, operations, setups, and prescribed specifications to perform in-process and completed inspections of products such as machine parts, mechanical assemblies, purchased standard hardware, and the inspections of applied protective coatings, including validation of heat treat
Comply with all Best Flow Line quality and HSE policies and procedures
Perform other duties as required by management
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent GED
2+ plus years experience in machine shop inspection or similar role
Ability to operate warehouse equipment (forklift/overhead crane)
Must be able to read and understand drawing and handle measuring instruments
Strong attention to details
Must be safety minded
