Job Description : Summary
Helm is an Aerospace Manufacturing Machine Shop located in Phoenix. It is being actively managed by ATF Aerospace, which is a Mesa based Aerospace Manufacturing and Distribution business. We are looking for a self-motivated, conscientious person to inspect and test parts against customer performance, dimensional, mechanical, and appearance specifications.
Position Responsibilities

Make final quality checks, i.e. hardness, torque, surface coating thickness, dimensional conformance, on random sampling.
Report any non-conformance to required specifications per QRN (Quality Rejection Notice).
Prepare company, customer samples and various inspection reports and transmittal forms.
Accurately complete Inspection reports with all required information.
File all inspection reports in appropriate location.
Maintain and clean all test equipment.
Report malfunctioning test equipment.
Perform gage repeatability and reproducibility studies as requested by supervisor.
Approval of all Final Inspection with 100% passing of all tests and sign off on rejected parts and disposition.
Follow all safety rules and practices.
Perform other tasks as directed by supervisor (i.e. Dock Audits, 1st piece inspection).

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to work from prints, sketches and shop orders.
Ability to use micrometer, caliper, hardness tester, comparator and magnaflux.
Knowledge of wide variety of precision inspection techniques, shop practices, elementary mechanics.
Must have Aerospace inspection background and have worked in an AS 9100/ISO 9000 facility.
Must perform AS9102 First Articles and perform incoming inspections to complex prints
Must understand GT & D measurements and have the ability to use measurement tools: calipers, micrometers, gages of all types, comparator
Good written and verbal communication
Good computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Word

Experience

High School diploma or the equivalent formal experience required.
Minimum of 2 to 3 years in inspection field preferred.
Equivalent of 2 to 3 years trade training.
Experience as an inspector in an automotive environment or at a fastener manufacturer is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 – $25.00 per hour
