Job Description:
Hours: 20-25 hrs per week, 2pm or 3pm start until 9pm
*Flexibility will be required to cover day shifts occasionally*
JOB SUMMARY
Supports the department flow by servicing patients and ensuring their comfort while waiting. Greets patients, family and visitors, receiving phone calls, answers inquiries and takes appropriate actions.
Will recommend repairs and work process efficiencies within their area and/or the department. Shares responsibility for the maintenance of efficient scheduling, patient flow and quality assurance, as well as having alertness for fiscal soundness within the division.
JOB RESPONSIBLITIES
Supports the department and the Imaging team by participating on designated committees, staff and/or departmental meetings. Participates in orientation of personnel and continuous quality and performance improvements.
Assist with patient issues posed by the physicians, nurses, and other personnel. Pursues appropriate help with issues as needed.
Be able to handle urgent situations with a calm and professional manner.
Answers phones in a professional and friendly manner and directs the calls to appropriate individuals via telephone and/or instant messaging. Takes messages for staff and directs to applicable party.
Coordinates with technologists and patients to ensure that patient is seen in timely manner and informed of any delay or changes to the patient’s schedule or future scheduled appointments.
Keeps track of patient wait times, assists in the collection and data entry of departmental stats, KPIs and other continuous improvement initiatives.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Experience: 6 months experience as a clerical/customer service area
Education:
High School Graduate or equivalent
