Work Hours

Will be required to work flexible scheduled shifts based on business needs.
Scheduling includes holidays, nights, overnights and weekends depending on hotel events and functions.

Summary of Job Description
The Recreation Manager is a key member of the Rooms Division and is responsible for ensuring a clean, safe, and fun environment for guests in the recreational areas at the resort and also the marina. The position serves as a key resource for all recreation activities facilitated on the property including the recreation facilities, pools, marina, fitness center, spa and surrounding areas.
Guest and Recreation Service

Develop and maintain fun, entertaining, relevant programming.
Encourage, promote, register, and schedule guests to participate in recreation activities.
Cultivate a fun and relaxing atmosphere for guests.
Promote the rules and regulations of the recreation facilities intended for the safety and welfare of guests, members and marina tenants.
Be aware and respond to possible situations where guests are not able to safely participate in an activity.
Observe activity in the recreational facility and respond appropriately in accordance with local operating procedure in the event of an emergency.
Provide cashier services when working in facilities that include point of sales transactions.
Assist when hosting private functions within the recreation facilities including group activities, events and fitness classes.
Maintain recreational facilities, equipment, and supplies.
Manages pool, fitness, spa and marina areas, including overall maintenance, daily upkeep, and cleanliness.
Oversee third party businesses relating to watersports, charters, spa and fitness and ensure they are operationally aligned with hotel standards and safety practices.
Promote and manage resort club membership program.
Responsible for implementing and promoting offerings that are competitive with the market including retail, services, experiences, etc.
Responsible for managing retail for pools and spa.
Create interactive kids activities and seasonal events.
Monitor quality, standards, and meets the expectations of the customers on a daily basis.
Demonstrates knowledge of job-relevant issues, products, systems, and processes.
Provides services that are above and beyond for customer satisfaction and retention.

Marina

Respond to marina safety needs and maintain the marina equipment.
Proactively monitor the condition of the docks and schedule maintenance as required.
Fill vacant marina slips and proactively manage marina slip waitlist.
Maintain current contracts, insurance and related paperwork.
Develop Tenant programming including amenities, special events, food & beverage specials, etc.
Oversee third party watersports and charters and ensure they are operationally aligned with hotel standards and safety practices.

Management

Select talented, qualified, and service oriented individuals to embody the core values of the hotel’s culture.
Supervise and manage employees in support of the day-to-day operations.
Schedule associates for recreation operations and manage payroll and productivity.
Ensures associates have supplies, equipment, tools, and uniforms necessary to perform their jobs.
Serves as a role model to demonstrate appropriate behaviors.
Carries out supervisor responsibilities in accordance with hotel policies and standard operating procedures.
Train and develop associates on 4 Keys service standards, technical skills, standard operation procedures, and safety standards.
Ensure associates exceed service standards.
Fosters open channels of communication between all employees.
Participates in the performance appraisal system process, giving feedback when needed.
Encourages and builds mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among associates.
Follow all additional duties as assigned by management.
