About the role
In order to help support Cochlear’s recipients, we are hiring a Recipient Account Collections Specialist in our Americas head office based in Lone Tree, CO. For local candidates the work environment is a hybrid in-office and a remote work from home, work environment. This position is also open to fully remote candidates Nationwide.
In alignment with our organizational principle of providing a safe work environment, and in order to comply with new requirements for contractors of the Federal Government, all US-based employees of Cochlear Americas are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. To be successful in this role, you will provide exceptional service by acting with a sense of urgency to perform collection follow-up with patients regarding open accounts receivable and/or delinquent accounts, while demonstrating a high degree of knowledge, integrity, and empathy in all aspects of team performance and operations.
Key Responsibilities
Contact patients to pursue account resolution, explaining and reviewing account activity with patients, extending payment options and collecting payments.
Pursue reimbursement of services rendered and achieve accounts receivable resolution.
Review and manage the overall health and status of patient accounts.
Provide exceptional customer service while showing empathy to others.
In this role you’ll have the opportunity to make a significant contribution to Cochlear’s successful history of innovation and delivering on our mission by applying your knowledge of accounts receivable and/or collections to review and manage patient accounts.
Key Requirements
To add value to Cochlear in this role you’ll be able to meet and demonstrate the following knowledge, skills and abilities in your application and at interview:
High school diploma or equivalent
1-2 years of experience in medical billing/collections with knowledge of the medical collections process
Familiarity with medical terminology, claims processing guidelines, and federal insurance regulations
Working knowledge of basic A/R principles, health insurance plans, Medicare, Medicaid and Explanation of Benefits (EOBs)

Target Hourly Rate for this position: $22.83/hr. as well as a commission opportunity of 4% of base salary in addition to an annual bonus opportunity of 2% of base salary.
