Position : Research Associate I

Job Description : Responsibilities:
Successful development and execution of aspects of the molecular laboratory clinical assay processes, including, but not limited to:

oDNA/RNA extraction. (variable techniques)
oNucleic acid quantification and qualification via QuBit, NanoDrop, andTapeStation.
oTraditional PCR, qPCR, and ddPCRoGel electrophoresis and restriction digests.
Perform experiments in the laboratory with proficiency and competency under general guidance from direct supervisor.
Common supply ordering/receiving and inventory management.
Assist in workspace organization.
Document experimental progress in laboratory notebooks.
Perform additional duties as needed.

Qualifications:

B.S. degree with minimum two years’ relevant experience in a laboratory. (industry experience preferred)
Demonstrated knowledge and hands-on experience of standard molecular biology techniques.
Experience in working with cGMP compliant/quality-controlled procedures. (preferred)
Excellent organizational skills with record keeping abilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Comfortable in a fast-paced small company environment and able to adjust workload based upon changing priorities.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

Will require working with blood and cell lines of human and animal origin.
Will require working with hazardous materials.
100% on-site work at corporate headquarters in San Diego, CA.
Occasional evening and weekend work will be required.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year
