We are hiring immediately for a Full Time Research Coordinator to join the Center for Health Promotion & Prevention Research team as part of the School of Public Health. This position is offers a hybrid and flexible schedule working remote and in office at the Texas Medical Center- Houston, TX. In this position you would manage the day-to-day operations of a large training grant and would coordinate and support the needs of both mentors and mentees.

Position Summary:
The Research Coordinator III provides day-to-day administrative project management and coordination of the National Cancer Institute Cancer Control Training Program and the Continuing Education Network for the School of Public Health, Department of Health Promotion and Behavioral Sciences and the Center for Health Promotion and Prevention Research.

Position Key Accountabilities:

Provides day-to-day project management and coordination for the Training Grant to include pre- and postdoctoral fellows, mentors, faculty directors, facilities and supplies.
Collects data from the trainees for annual progress reports and grant and works closely with UTHealth Office of Sponsored Projects in completing all required forms on time.
Assists with the preparation of budgets in compliance with UTHealth and National Cancer Institute requirements. Monitors expenditures, and balances, initiates re-budgeting requests and payments.
Coordinates with Department and other administrative staff for procurement requests: tuition sponsorship, insurance payments, travel, and reimbursements, related to pre- and post-doctoral fellows.
Maintains relevant websites, webpages and shared drives with up-to-date information.
Manages recruitment, processes applications and assists with the selection and appointment processes for pre- and post-doctoral fellows.
Manages appointments, reappointments and terminations of fellows.
Coordinates and schedules director meetings for the training grant and the Continuing Education Network.
Supports training grant mentors and fellows with grant related requests, reports, and activities.
Responsible for all phases of Continuing Education Network short courses/workshops: strategic planning, applications to accrediting bodies for the right to issue continuation credits, marketing, registration, accessibility, scheduling, course design, delivery and materials, reporting, record keeping, evaluation and certificates of completion to ensure the achievement of its assigned goals and objectives.
Coordinates administrative tasks for CEN courses with CHPPR administrative staff.
Builds relationships with both internal departments and external community and professionals for collaboration opportunities.
Stays abreast of new and updated policies, assists with continuous improvement and regularly develops and updates internal protocols.
Other duties as assigned.

Certification/Skills:

Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
Strong working knowledge of MS Office.

Preferred:.

Understanding of academic research methods and processes
Experience with web publishing and design
Experience with students from diverse backgrounds in higher education
Experience with grant reporting

Minimum Education:

Bachelor’s degree

Minimum Experience:

Five years of relevant experience. May substitute required experience with equivalent years of education beyond the minimum education requirement.
Previous experience working with training grants, NCBI, eRA Commons, Qualtrics is preferred, but not required.

Physical Requirements: Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects. This position may include work involving potentially hazardous chemical, biological or radioactive agents.Security Sensitive: This job class may contain positions that are security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Texas Education Code § 51.215
