Description:
The Room Attendant is responsible for cleaning guest rooms and responding to guest requests in the hotel’s continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service. Specifically, the Room Attendant is responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

Clean guest rooms as assigned, including, but not limited to, making beds, cleaning bathrooms, dusting and vacuuming
Change and replenish bed linens, towels and guest amenities, as needed
Perform deep cleaning tasks, as needed
Stock, maintain and transport housekeeping supply cart on a daily basis
Dispose of trash and recyclables
Respond to special guest requests in a timely, friendly and efficient manner
Perform guest turn down service, as needed
Requirements:
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

Education: Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or any other combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities.
Experience: Prior housekeeping and/or other prior hospitality experience preferred.
Licenses or certificates: No special licenses required. CPR certification and/or First Aid training preferred.
Grooming: All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance (specific standards available).
Note: This is a full-time non-exempt position that requires working weekends and holidays.

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

Ability to arrive to work on time and when scheduled
Physically able to move large objects, such as: carts, large bags of linens, ironing board
Physically able to operate cleaning equipment, such as: vacuum cleaners, brooms, spray bottles
Ability to read and recognize room/suite numbers
Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members verbally or in written form
Ability to learn, follow, and enforce standards of cleanliness as the apply to all aspects of rooms/suites
Ability to follow all safety procedures/standards and able to recognize and act in emergency situations
