Job Description : Job DescriptionJob Description Do you love the outdoors and adventuring? Do you love seeing wildlife on a daily basis and sharing your love of the outdoors with others? We are building a team of passionate adventure guides who love what Yellowstone National Park has to offer Qualifications Ability to communicate clearly with customers and gain interpersonal relationships during tours. Degree in wildlife biology, ecology, environmental education is a plus, or equivalent degree or experience. Excellent driving record, training in Standard First Aid and CPR. Ability to lead groups and explain the wonders of Yellowstone. Knowledge of both fauna and flora as well as the knowledge of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem temperate zone(thermal features and history). Skills Knowledge of the Tour Area. Ability to Communicate Effectively. Strong Empathy and Understanding. Charismatic Personality. Keen Ability to Improvise and Adapt. Focuses on Building Rapport. Flexibility. Leadership, teaching, and an ability to convey enthusiasm and educational concepts through examples and stories. Spotting, observing, and facilitating observation of wildlife by client/guests. Timeliness and Punctuality. Ability to independently manage work time and support company goals, objectives and peers. Guides should maintain rapport by displaying a professional attitude at all times. Even when not working, quality guides exhibit behaviors that are representative of who they are. Professionalism helps audiences see the tour guide as a credible and reliable source. Being professional includes essential attributes such as being honest, well groomed, punctual, attentive and courteous. Risk management skills and knowledge may be applicable. Special Knowledge Bird, mammal, and common wildflower identification; animal behavior interpretation; dominant plant/animal communities of the Northern Rockies and plains; Yellowstone, Rocky Mountain, Lewis and Clark and fur trade, cultural history; national and regional environmental issues; general ecology of regional ecosystems and organisms. Intimate knowledge of touring Yellowstone is essential. Job Responsibilities Our guides are responsible for transporting up to 11 guests, managing all trip logistics, food preparation, providing interpretive narrative as you travel throughout the park and creating a lasting memory for everyone that you take into the park. Guides are responsible for providing a fun, educational and safe trip every time.
