Position : Sizing Operator

Job Description : EHC is currently seeking a Sizing Operator for an oil/gas service company client located in Houston, TX. This is a contract position expected to last a minimum of 6 months on a rotational basis.Sizing Operator monitors work activities of production to verify conformance of activities to Quality Tubing and/or Customer Specifications and Standards. All duties are expected to be performed safely and in accordance with established procedures.Job Duties:

Adjusts sizing mill to maintain tubing dimensions within product specifications.
Operate and maintain testing equipment (NDT) which includes calibrations as required per associated SOPs, daily inspections of the eddy current unit, and daily cleaning of the unit, coil(s), and guide sleeves. Any problems with the unit, coil(s), and/or guide sleeves are reported to both the Manufacturing Supervisor.
Monitors chart recorder for seam annealer and full body temperature.
Ensure Pyrometers for seam annealer are centered on longitudinal weld.
Complete all Quality Tubing forms (both electronic and hard copy) as required.
Conduct pull tests as per instructions in associated SOPs.
Ensure the product meets Quality Tubing and Customer specifications/tolerances.
Communicate out of specification product to the Machine Operator and Supervisor.
Conducts visual inspection of tubing. Takes necessary readings of tube OD and/or material imperfection depth and reports results to Supervisor for determination of continued milling of the string.
Perform tasks required to complete a size change of tooling in the sizing section of the tube mill.
Responsible for insuring correct size spool is loaded prior to mill startup. Also responsible for labeling of the string number onto the spool and removing any markings on the spool.
Operate the tube mill cut-off equipment. Insure that the cut-off is working properly at all times. Perform routine maintenance to the cut-off as required.
Responsible for checking temperatures assigned to each heat number for upcoming orders and acquiring all strips needed for pull-tests and mill setup.
Responsible for conducting thorough turnovers at shift change to the oncoming Sizing Operator. This includes, but is not limited to, status of current and/or upcoming orders, problems with mill sizing section and/or mill cut-off, eddy current unit, and upcoming pull- tests/setups required.
Comply with all applicable HSE requirements as specified in Quality Tubing’s HSE Operational Requirements.

Requirements:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
HS Diploma or GED Required.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $19.00 – $24.00 per hour
