Job Description : LOCATION

Catamaran Resort Hotel & Spa

The Catamaran Resort Hotel and Spa is a Polynesian-themed destination located on the shores of Mission Bay and mere steps from San Diego’s famous Pacific Beach. The resort features 310 rooms and suites, lush tropical gardens, and award-winning dining at Oceana Coastal Kitchen.

The following position will be filled in accordance with the process set forth in California Labor Code Section 2810.8 and San Diego Municipal Code 311.0101 et. seq.

SUMMARY

The Snack Shack Attendant (“Asistente de Choza de Bocadillos”) welcomes our guests to the restaurant in a warm and enthusiastic fashion. Smiles and presents a professional appearance, manages reservations and works with other staff to meet guests’ needs. Influences customer flow for good service while fulfilling guests’ requests.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Greets customers in a pleasant and professional manner.
Responsible for taking and preparing food & beverage orders.
Operates a POS system and issues a receipt for each transaction.
Prepares food items ordered by customer in accordance with Department of Health regulations.
Records and accounts for items sold.
Stocks service area with drinks, food, ice, and condiments.
Follows all safety rules and regulations.
Follows all general and department policies and procedures.
Makes eye contact and smiles warmly when welcoming our guests.
Carries out duties safely and is trained in our established safety and emergency procedures.
Regular and predictable attendance for scheduled shifts.
Performs additional duties and responsibilities as directed by the leadership team.

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Food Handlers Certification
Previous similar position in a top-quality restaurant or hotel is preferred.
Experience in customer service is preferred, such as retail cashier, food industry service, guest service with public contacts, etc.
Ability to maintain a friendly, team-oriented, positive attitude and a professional appearance at all times.
Ability to be poised under pressure with continued smiles, and maintain a highly diplomatic attitude with challenging guests and under stressful circumstances.
Open availability on weekends and holidays.
