A part-time, Stock Clerk position is available with the City of Fort Worth Police Department in the Asset Management Unit. This position will be responsible for contributing to the Department’s goals, mission and vision by working in a warehouse to establish a centralized area of issuing and receiving supplies and equipment. The incumbent will assist with identifying, ordering, receiving and stocking supplies and equipment. It may be necessary for the incumbent to pick up and deliver supplies and equipment to both internal and external customers. It may also be necessary for the incumbent to safely operate pallet jacks and other associated equipment.
The number of hours will fluctuate depending on Department needs, but cannot exceed an average of 19 hours per week Monday through Friday.
This part-time position has no benefits.
The Stock Clerk job responsibilities will:
Receive, maintain and stock Departmental inventory; e. ballistic vest, helmet inventory;
Issue and exchange supplies and equipment, process returns and update inventory and maintain renewal timelines;
Create, file and maintain documentation of all personnel, signed receipts and equipment records;
Receive purchase order receipts, enter purchase order information into the computer system; receive deliveries; process equipment or supplies and add to inventory;
Provide assistance with Quartermaster related activities, including but not limited to, contacting vendors, scheduling appointments, maintaining inventory records and preparing reports;
Prepare required documentation for the disposition of department surplus furniture and equipment;
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
One (1) year of warehouse, stockroom, inventory control or related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Higher levels of education;
Records management, warehouse, stockroom or inventory control experience as it relates to the vacancy;
Advance proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel);
Experience with sworn civil service personnel and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of an organization;
Experience in ERP/ERP Financials (PeopleSoft) or similar software;
Experience working with tracking software, exporting and scrubbing data, and understanding records management within a database;
Prior military experience.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Final candidates selected for hire in the Police Department will be subject to a fingerprint/criminal history background check and polygraph examination. Applicants must not have used marijuana during the previous two (2) years, nor illegally used any controlled substances within the last ten (10) years.
Working Conditions
Applicants for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility. Due to CJIS requirements related to system access, the following will result in being disqualified for this position: Felony Convictions, Felony Deferred Adjudication, Class A Misdemeanor Conviction, Class B Misdemeanor Convictions in the last 10 years, Class A Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication, Class B Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication in the last 10 years, an Open Arrest for Any Criminal Offense (Felony or Misdemeanor), and ALL Family Violence Convictions regardless of class.
Environmental Conditions:
Positions in this class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking, repetitive motions, climbing, balancing, pushing, pulling and lifting.
Physical Demands:
Essential and other important responsibilities and duties require maintaining physical condition necessary for exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly having to move objects.
Conditions of Employment
Candidates who do not meet the Education requirement, may be considered if they have more relevant work experience than the position requires. Those selected for employment will be required to pass Pre-Employment checks depending on the position requirements. Those could include, but are not limited to: criminal background check, drug screen, education verification, etc. Criminal convictions will be considered on a case by case basis.
