Job Description : Supply Planner Compound
Role Purpose:
§ The Supply Planner Compound is responsible to guarantee financial optimisation of the compound assets at his/her responsibility by leading the planning process for M1-18 towards the optimum for Borealis.
§ The role’s focus is to guarantee ROCE maximisation of his/her asset platform, by prioritising and steering sales and production volumes towards the best possible point, also considering 3rd party sourcing options.
§ To do so, the role holder utilises information of business demand, total sales margins and considers plant utilisation, 3rd party sourcing, total cost to serve and customer service levels according to PO Strategy.
Responsibilities:
§ Performs and steers the supply planning process of his/her assets platform for the timeframe of months 1 to 18 including demand & supply balancing, financial reconciliation and scenario preparation.
§ Defines inventory targets, monitors inventory development and initiates corrective actions, optimising between working capital costs and business priorities.
§ Coordinates the Business Plan and RFF process in their area of responsibility, optimising the solution giving the assumptions received from Business Strategy. Propose different scenarios for management.
§ Is responsible for production cycle and sourcing optimisation, drives scenario analyses and understands the impact of business and sourcing decisions, thereby driving profit optimisation via an optimization tool.
§ Manages the asset loading process based on a profitable integrated margin across reactor and compound.
§ Challenges demand forecast outlook based on data of previous planning rounds and presenting financial consequences of optimistic/ pessimistic plans.
§ Delivery of a monetized and optimized supply
§ Delivery of inventory targets for the for respective asset platform incl. safety stock
§ Delivery of Business Plan targets for respective asset platform. Provide benchmark info and tracks business cases, in particular for external sourcing evaluations
§ Owns production cycle and network model, implement best practices of supply planning / supply response and articulates business process requirements for CoE
§ Represents S&OP in Product Management, OPEX and other fora and ensures that DBM rules are enforced in her/his area of responsibility, especially regarding product prioritization and service levels.
§ Responsible for management of supply crisis and guides production schedulers to manage supply crisis, in cases current plan will need to be changed and affects preliminary plan for following months
§ Product allocation to producing plants and downgrades
§ Decisions of regular business prioritisation (demand cuts) according to PO strategy.
§ Decides on best product sourcing option within the respective asset platform including external sourcing via 3rd party producers.
Qualifications:
Education:
§ University degree on master level in related field (Business Management, Economics, Engineering, Supply Chain).
§ Strong commercial understanding, preferably business finance professional training
§ Preferably S&OP/Supply Chain professional training (APICS or similar) and/or Project Management professional training.
Required Knowledge:
§ EXPERIENCE IN THE ROLE: 5+ years solid experience in a commercial, business, operations or supply chain environment preferably in the compounding industry.
§ TOTAL EXPERIENCE: 8+ years
§ Extensive professional know-how in S&OP, preferentially through being responsible of different steps of S&OP process in the past, ideally combining business, supply chain and finance know-how.
§ Excellent SAP-APO (or equivalent) planning and optimisation tool knowledge.
§ Excellent analysis and conceptualisation skills, supporting fact based decision making and business case preparation as well as excellent presentation skills based upon an ability to analyse and propose solutions.
§ Strong influencing skills, being able to translate complex situations into simple terms. Sets direction, engages and inspires people. Strong people and project management skills, capable to lead in matrix structure.
§ Deep understand of the relationship of Reactor and Compound, external contractual obligations and optimisation framework on the Reactor side.
