Position : Surgery Scheduler

Job Description : Coast Surgical Group is looking for a detailed and compassionate individual to join the team as a general surgery scheduler. We are a 6 surgeon, private practice that has been proudly serving the South Bay Community for over 25 years.
Ideal candidates will have:
– an amazing work ethic
– experience in a medical setting
– familiarity with medical terminology
– be thorough and detailed in their work
– clear written and verbal communication skills
– familiarity with basic office technology, EMR a plus
– Bilingual, Spanish (required)
The position consists of:
– Coordinate surgery, working with the patient, the facility schedule and the surgeons schedule to provide efficient patient care.
– Ensures that all necessary medical records, labs and radiology results and films are available for the surgeon and facility staff.
– Schedules all necessary preop tests and labs.
– Obtain necessary prior authorization and referrals from patients’ insurance carriers and maintain accurate records of coverage.
– Communicate clearly with patients regarding the details of their scheduled surgery.
– Coordinate and maintain all general surgery schedules, to include the Physician Assistant’s clinics and surgical assists.
-Follow through as patient point of contact from initial consultation through post-operative care.
– Maintain respectful relationships within the office and beyond to efficiently schedule surgeries across several community hospitals and outpatient surgery centers.
– Reschedule patients as needed.
– Support other positions within the office as needed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 – $25.00 per hour
