Position : Travel Medical Assistant

Job Description : Seeking an experienced, energetic, pro-active individual as an assistant for an anesthesia practice in an outpatient dental setting. This position requires traveling to different locations within the Houston Metropolitan Area.
Anesthesiologist who travels to private dental offices seeking an assistant to help the anesthesiologist on a per-diem basis. Hours vary depending on the day. Typical day 6am – 2pm. Competitive pay.
Duties will include:

Loading/unloading equipment
Set up/ break down equipment in between patients
Assist with various aspects of patient management peri-operatively and post-operatively

Qualifications

BLS
Experience with patients in intraoperative and post-operative stages of anesthesia preferred

Responsibilities:

Meeting at that day’s dental office or at a predetermined location to carpool to dental office.
Assisting setting up for the anesthetics of the day.
Meet patient and family, in office, prior to procedure to review medical history, verify NPO status, etc.
Assist during induction of anesthesia (assist in IV placement, airway management as needed, etc).
Assist for emergence from anesthesia.
Observe patient while in recovery from the anesthetic to allow efficient transition between patient cases.
Help clean and pack up equipment before leaving
