Job Description : Position Overview

ABOUT THE POSITION:

The Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Program Education Coordinator provides support to the CASA program by coordinating and delivering training to new and current CASA advocates, community agencies, and child welfare partners.

Note: The pay range listed above ($24.05 to $27.86) reflects the expected ENTRY pay range for this position based on experience and equity within the Judicial Branch. The full range of this position $24.05 to $39.30 hourly. This position is non-exempt under the FLSA.

Position Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Education, Communications, Social Services or a relevant field

Experience:

One (1) year of experience in developing or delivering adult training programs

Other Requirements:

Applicants must have or obtain a valid Arizona Driver License and reliable vehicle by time of hire. Employees will be reimbursed for the use of a privately owned vehicle for work purposes at the current mileage reimbursement rate established by the U.S. General Services Administration

Essential Job Tasks

(This is not an all-inclusive list of all job duties that may be required; employees will be required to perform other related duties as assigned.)

Designs and delivers curriculum to educate program-identified applicants, stakeholders, government agencies, and community partners about the CASA of Maricopa County Program and the role of a CASA volunteer advocate
Enlists and coordinates with subject matter experts to present training topics relevant to the work of CASA
Works collaboratively to coordinate and facilitate training academies for new CASA advocates who are required to complete pre-service training in accordance with CASA of Arizona Standards
Educate volunteer applicants one on one through the interview and onboarding process
Prepares and facilitates training topics current CASA advocates will use to support victims of child abuse including consistent collaboration with community partners, to ensure training objectives.
Works as part of a team to coordinate ongoing Peer Coordinator training to enhance professional development skills for CASA volunteers filling a coaching role as a Volunteer Peer Coordinator.
Manages production and distribution of training materials including content revisions.
Coordinates service feedback surveys and assessments to identify program strengths and opportunities, evaluate results, identify professional development needs and create and deliver content to address those needs to CASA staff and/or volunteers.
Provides computer training/troubleshooting to advocates to enable their use of the online case management system used to document, track and report on advocacy activity and troubleshoot volunteer email account issues.

Working conditions
:

High-volume, fast-paced office setting. Work hours may include some evenings and/or weekends. May be required to operate a motor vehicle to various locations throughout the County.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak clearly and hear; see details of objects that are less than a few feet away; sit for long periods of time; stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and occasionally push, pull or lift up to 20 pounds.

Retirement Eligible employees are covered by one of several State-sponsored retirement pension plans, including the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS) and the Public Safety Personnel Retirement System (PSPRS). Additionally, there’s the option to contribute to a 457(b) Savings Plan that provides employees with a variety of investment opportunities. For those employees who retire from the County and from their retirement system, and have accrued 1,000 or more hours of sick leave, the County makes a $10,000 contribution to a Post-Employment Health Plan set up on their behalf to be used for payment of eligible out-of-pocket healthcare expenses.
