Reports to: COO

Assignment Focus: VP of Operations will be responsible for day to day operations of Contractor Transport (CT).
Job Profile and Description
The VPO is an essential, integral and highly visible position at CT. Reporting to the COO and serving as a key, leading member of the senior management team, the VPO is responsible for providing operational leadership for the company and the entire workforce. The VPO is accountable for establishing and implementing long-range goals, plans and policies that will improve operational efficiency and profitability. The VPO oversees budgets and ensures resources are properly allocated. The VPO is charged with defining and ensuring the operations, health and safety, sales, compliance, and field services departments meet individual goals. The VPO will be responsible for developing and implementing more sophisticated policies and procedures for industry best practice, optimal performance, and achievement of strategic goals.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Oversight of day to day operations for the entire company including compliance, oil hauling, water hauling, field services.
Operations
1. Fleet Management 2. Driver Management a. Hiring drivers b. Driver compliance 3. Driver Schedule 4. Dispatching 5. Purchasing of materials, parts, supplies, repairs, etc. 6. Route tracking 7. Utilization of all trucks
Business Development
1. Fleet utilization for oil hauling 1 2. Fleet utilization for water hauling 3. Field service line development 4. Client meetings / Outings
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Provides day-to-day leadership and management to CT that mirrors the mission and core values of the company. 2. Responsible for driving CT to achieve and surpass sales, profitability, cash flow and business goals and objectives. 3. Work in close association with the Company’s COO, President, CEO and outside advisors to develop the Company’s business plan to effectively invest in people, facilities, equipment, and market development to achieve the Company’s vision and growth expectations. 4. Oversee the execution of the Company’s business plan on a day-to- day basis. 5. Spearheads the development, communication and implementation of effective growth strategies and processes. 6. Enhance and/or develop, implement and enforce policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the corporation. 7. Establish credibility by providing timely, accurate and complete reports summarizing and forecasting CT’s business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses and earnings based on past, present and expected operations. 8. Set measurable performance goals for every department. 9. Hire and train the Company’s management staff and perform terminations when necessary. 10. Directly supervise the Safety department to accomplish performance goals. 11. Directly supervise the Operations team to accomplish performance goals. 12. Establishes guidelines for advancement, recruitment and evaluation of personnel; attracts, recruits and retains required members of the team not currently in place; provides mentoring as a cornerstone to the management career development program. 13. Acts as lead in “client-care” through direct contact with every client and stakeholder. 14. Fosters a success-oriented, accountable environment within CT. 15. Represents the firm with clients, stakeholders and business partners. 16. Make periodic presentations to keep managers and employees informed of Company initiatives. 17. Meet with the board of directors and other executives to determine if the company is in accordance with goals and policies. 18. Oversee budgets. 19. Promote economic development within communities. 2 20. Develop and maintain relationships with other associations, industry, and government officials that are in the best interest of the company.
Knowledge and Skills Requirements
Ability to function effectively as a representative of Contractor Transport through the integration of the following knowledge, skills and abilities: Ability to function effectively in an integral role in order to ensure that Contractor Transport and its employees meet the goals and objectives of the company Excellent communication and human relation skills (verbal, written or by phone) Ability to work with teams and independently with limited supervision while constantly meeting deadlines and goals Able to juggle multiple assignments and meeting multiple deadlines Ability to work effectively and create a cohesive atmosphere of trust and respect within Contractor Transport, as well as with all employees and stakeholders Extensive professional network and reputation for the highest integrity within the profession Is extremely responsive Detailed and great follow up with employees, customers and vendors Physical and Other Requirements The VP Ops will work in a flexible environment that includes power and hand tools, heavy equipment, and motor vehicles. Possession of a valid CDL Driver’s License with no restrictions on driving privileges In addition, benefits are provided which may include: Paid Time Off (PTO) in accordance with the company handbook. Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $125,000.00 – $150,000.00 per year
