The Water Resources Policy Analyst works closely with the Water Resources Advisor to ensure Peoria maintains a resilient and sustainable water supply as it grows. The two primary functions of the policy analyst are to maintain compliance with all water resources-related contracts and regulations and to help the Water Services department maximize the long-term benefit of its water resources.
In performing these functions, the policy analyst is responsible for activities such as:
Compiling and submitting monthly, quarterly, and annual reports required by contracts and regulations
Researching, interpreting, and communicating regulatory and contractual requirements
Developing, tracking, and communicating the annual water supply budget
Developing monthly and annual water supply orders and tracking performance
Leading efficiency and improvement efforts such as the annual water loss audit
Collecting and preparing historical data for system optimization analyses and resource planning activities
Supporting water conservation efforts with analysis of water billing data
As a member of a small team, the policy analyst will build relationships with peer utilities and other water industry organizations to gather and share information.
