Job Description : The Juvenile Justice Center of Philadelphia (JJC) is a non-profit, multi-service organization that serves the needs of children, youth and families in need of services to promote healthy and productive outcomes related to their emotional, behavioral well-being, social and educational progress. Our service delivery model is to provide quality intervention and prevention services to children, youth, and families through supportive services. JJC is looking for the ideal candidate for In-Home Detention Services (IHD) Youth Advocate position opening in our Coulter Street office.
Job Summary
The IHD Youth Advocate is an integral team member of the In-Home Detention Services (IHD) department. The Youth Advocate provides casework and supervision to clients and families in the IHD Program. The Youth Advocate meets the objectives of providing sufficient supervision to ensure the youth appears in court, remain arrest-free, observe curfews, and school and/ or work attendance is adhered to.
Qualifications

Candidate must have a High School diploma, Bachelor’s degree preferred
Access to and use of a vehicle each day, including the possession of current auto insurance and valid driver’s license is required.
Six months of experience and knowledge in the principles, practices, procedures, and applications of juvenile detention and counseling methods and techniques.
·Willingness to travel into areas within Philadelphia that may not be the most attractive or desirable.
The ability and willingness to adjust hours in accord with job responsibility. evening and weekend hours are inevitable.
Working cell phone and number at all times.

The position is Fee-For-Service and cases are allocated on an as needed basis. Cases are not guaranteed and the position is a W2 contracted position. Organization medical benefits do not apply.

Pay: $15.00 – $17.00 per hour

COVID-19 considerations:For the health and safety of all employees, JJC requires all employees to wear PPE at all times. PPE including KN95 masks are provided to employees. Temperatures checks are conducted upon entry to all locations.

Education:

High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:

working with at risk youth: 1 year (Preferred)
