Part Time Position Summary
The Taproom employee is responsible for executing all daily functions of the brewery taproom. The employee will help maintain a positive work environment through open communication, and a customer service oriented attitude. This position will report to the Taproom Manager.
Job Responsibilities
Take orders from patrons for beer, merchandise, food or other non-alcoholic beverages; check patrons’ identification in order to ensure that they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages
Engage customers and answer questions; educate guests on our beer and brand
Inform guests of daily specials, upcoming events or beer releases
Maintain working knowledge of the descriptions of each beer menu item, including basic ingredients and unique features
Maintain working knowledge of the descriptions of each food menu item, including basic ingredients and unique features
Maintain service standards and minimize product waste
Monitor and proactively enhance Taproom cleanliness and organization, including all guest facing areas, restrooms, office space, meeting space, merchandise storage, brewery and back of house areas
Demonstrate the highest integrity of fiduciary responsibilities through money handling and accurate POS system transactions
Prepare Growlers, Crowlers and preorders accordingly
Ensure each guest is treated with the best possible customer service using superior service skills and a welcoming demeanor
Immediately report any customer concern to the Taproom Manager
Complete all necessary side work independently, as instructed by Manager
Proactively restock and inform Manager when supplies run low
Must be able to communicate clearly and professionally with other staff, food partners and management at all times
Must be punctual, have excellent attendance and a reliable means of transportation to work
Availability to work flexible hours, including days, nights, weekends and holidays required
Duties are performed in both indoor and outdoor settings
Must be able to lift 40 pounds
This position will require you to stand, walk, and be on your feet for long periods
Bending, twisting, reaching, pushing, pulling, and performing repetitive motions required

High school Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience is required.
Ability to communicate through listening, speaking and writing
Ability to positively represent brand at industry and promotional events
Must be punctual and have a reliable transportation plan to get to/from Taproom
Valid driver’s license and an excellent driving record
Work Environment
The Taproom Employee will work mostly onsite at the Hammer & Stitch Taproom. Occasionally, the employee will be asked to work and promote the company at industry events.
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions in the brewery as well as outside weather conditions. Movement is spent in high-traffic areas while performing various tasks. The position is exposed to background music and low lights for long periods of time.
Physical Demands
The physical demands here are represented by those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position requires the ability to walk/stand and sustain physical activity for extended periods of time (8+ hours). Requires at times high and low levels of movement with the ability to reach with arms, kneel, crouch, climb, balance and squat. Requires the lifting of items up to 60 lbs and maneuver items of up to 150 lbs. Taproom Team Member must possess the ability to move kegs and operate a hand truck. Hours & Compensation
Competitive pay plus tips. Often working weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Hours range from as early as 8am to as late as 12am.

Experience & Personal Skills
Customer service experience in a retail and/or restaurant environment. Taproom or brewery experience is preferred
Advanced computer knowledge, specifically POS system (Square), Must be at least 21 years of age.
Must be able to produce and maintain an Oregon Food Handler Certification and OLCC servers license on date of hire
Must have an interest and love of craft beer
Ability to be a strong team player and get along well with co-workers
Ability to adjust to changing schedules and priorities
Ability to remain calm under pressure or when dealing with disgruntled customers
