Position : Laborer (FAMCAMP)

Job Description : Duties
Performs a variety of laboring duties which involves grass cutting, edging, trimming of grass, and shrubs in designated recreation areas. In the performance of these duties, use gasoline powered mowers, both walking and riding, powered edger’s, trimmers, blowers, rakes and will be required to operate a small farm tractor.
Polices Fam Camp areas to include emptying garbage cans, cleaning bathhouse/laundry facility to include toilets, shower stalls, laundry room, floors, sinks, mirrors, and concrete area outside bathhouse.
Polices Sun Plaza and Pow Wow parks to include cleaning pavilions, emptying trash cans, makes minor repairs and calls in work orders.
Uses power washers to clean picnic tables and outdoor pavilions.
Paints picnic tables and ensures grills, tables, etc. are in serviceable condition.
Maintains vehicles, mowers, tractors, etc. that are assigned to the Fam Camp. Checks each vehicle/equipment daily to include inspecting fluids levels, battery, brakes, etc.
Trims overhanging branches on trees in the Fam Camp and park areas as needed using power and manual saws.
Picks up office/cleaning supplies from the base supply store as necessary. Takes equipment to local repair shops as needed.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
This position requires mandatory drug testing.
Must be able to satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries.
This positions to have and maintain valid drivers license.
This position requires the incumbent to satisfactorily complete a physical.
Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience:
Must have the knowledge and experience in the use and operation, control, and cleaning of heavy and light power equipment
and hand tools, such as pick, axe, sledge hammer, heavy power mower, chain saw, posthole digger, etc.
Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds with assistance. Must be able to work under general supervision responding to initial oral or written instructions and completing assigned task. Must satisfactorily complete a preemployment physical.
This is a position of trust and requires satisfactory completion of a National Agency Check with Inquiries.
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
This is a drug testing designated position and the incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position DOES NOT allow for education substitution.
