Job Description : We are a locally owned and operated Vacation Rental Company with homes located in Silver Strand, Hollywood Beach, and Pierpont Beach. Our office and warehouse is in Camarillo. We pride ourselves on our 5star customer service and sometimes that means helping a guest with additional beach towels on a Saturday or showing them how to light the firepit at 7:00 p.m. on a Tuesday night. If you are a people person and like the flexibility of not being tied to a desk from 9:00 to 5:00, you too might find this a fun and rewarding career. We made a major investment in properties in 2021 and will be investing in a new state of the art website and PMS system that rivals the national PM services (who don’t have your personal interaction with the guests).
General skills needed:
Reliability and enthusiasm. If you are excited about the company and your future, that comes across to guests. If you can be relied upon th show up where needed, finish projects and work with the team to make everyone’s load a little lighter, you will be a welcome addition.
Particular Skills Needed:
1. Computer Software Savvy. We use a variety of programs, from the Airbnb and VRBO platforms to the specialty vacation rental programs, inventory programs, and cleaning scheduling programs. While you do not need to know these coming in, you do need to have a propensity to learn how to use these programs quickly and understand them well. They are the structure of the company.
2. Social Media. The new and best way to market vacation rentals so the more you know about Instagram: posting, running contests, etc, the more points you possess. Not a deal breaker, but a huge plus to be able to add this benefit to your skill set with us.
3. Flexible schedule and willingness to be on-call weekends and at night. It always seems that issues seem to happen after 5:00 p.m. on Friday night! We need a support person who answers the phone when guests have written down the wrong entry code, need new batteries for their remote, need you to call the plumber, or can’t find the sheets for the sleeper sofa. There are several of us on-call, and these calls are not every weekend or every night, but HOW they are handled and their timeliness can make the difference between a 5 star and 3 star review.
6. Additional Eyes: Our reviews start with a 5-star first impression. Checking a property right before a guest checks in is the best way to make sure it is inviting, has enough supplies, and that we are assured a great review. Our cleaners are amazing but sometimes something is missed or maybe the ants have made there way inside or a plumbing issues has arisen. We like to do a quick walk-through right before to check that lights are on, smells are good, there are coffee pods (the previous coffee pod is not in the machine, often overlooked) sheets are fresh, floors are clean (sand from beach on a windy day makes its way in sometimes). etc. You will be working closely with the cleaners and our inventory support manager to keep homes supplied and cleanings scheduled.
7. Overall great attitude. Honest and hard working, available and reliable. My employees have worked with me for 8 to 20 years and goes the extra mile for all our benefit.
There is an amazing amount of room for growth in this position for the person who desires it. We started in 2018 with two houses, were up to eight by the end of 2021 and are currently setting up ten more to be ready by summer 2022. We believe our success is due to our team.
