Reporting directly to the Superintendent, the Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning (ASTL) is instrumental in helping the district achieve its key goals by setting the strategic vision and direction for the instructional framework and approach to academic programming in Ravenswood City School District. The ideal candidate will be an equity-driven, results-oriented leader with a clear strategic vision and commitment to rigorous, equitable instruction for each and every student.
The ASTL oversees the district’s principals to ensure rigorous, engaging classroom instruction for every Ravenswood student. The ASTL supervises the Executive Director of Educational Services, who will focus on ensuring coherent and effective Tier 2 and Tier 3 supports (including mental health supports, special education services, multilingual learner supports, etc.) that ensure our students get the varied supports they need to thrive. The ASTLensures alignment across all aspects of teaching and learning in the district.
The ASTL brings broad and deep instructional expertise on curriculum, knowledge of effective educator supports and professional growth, and pedagogical content knowledge. Candidates should have extensive experience supporting English Language Learners and a deep understanding of language acquisition and best practices for literacy.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $150,000.00 – $175,000.00 per year
