$24/hr.

Shift:

Shift: can work either 6am-3pm, 7am-4pm, 8am-5pm, or 9am-6pm (manager is flexible with which shift they work)

Location:

In-office training for 8 weeks and then will have option to work from home. 10730 International Drive, Rancho Cordova, CA

Daily Responsibilities for Background Specialist:

By email and phone, interacts with employees and vendor agents who require a background investigation for a Department of Defense security clearance. This includes educating them on the activities needed to complete one and answering their questions as they arise.
Initiates the employees’ background checks through written and verbal instructions; tracks their status through the multi-phase process; reviews the investigation questionnaire for accuracy and potential security concerns; submits the completed security questionnaire and supporting documents to the Defense Health Agency.
Obtains the individual’s fingerprints if local, or provides instructions if not.
Acts as subject matter expert on government requirements for personnel security.
Provides one-on-one counsel to associates and managers and advises on what will or will not be acceptable to the Government.
Advises on appropriate completion of the SF86.
Directs associates and managers on who and where to contact to gather personal historical data.
Responsible for the fingerprinting for all required Health Net Federal Services associates.
Reviews, audits, and submits completed Standard Form 86 forms to the Defense Health Agency.

Requirements for the Background Specialist:

High school diploma or GED
US Citizenship (must be able to provide proof via birth certificate, passport, consular birth abroad, citizenship certificate, or naturalization certificate)

When speaking to candidates about the citizenship requirement – can explain that it’s a federal law requirement, not a client or HSS requirement: “this is a client with a contract with the federal government and that specific position requires a certain level of security clearance from the federal government and according to federal law, only US Citizens may obtain that security clearance.”

2-5 years of office administrative, HR, IT Security, or compliance experience.
2+ years of experience working with government security clearance processes and procedures required (if they have had a government clearance previously, they will likely have this experience)
Ability to obtain fully adjudicated NACLC clearance (Health Net processes this, candidate must clear this background to be kept on, but can start with it pending)

Prefer active NACLC clearance if possible!

Prefer experience with US Military and/or Department of Defense
