Job Description : Responsibilities
We are recruiting for two (2) Communications Lead Page Operators, each at 50%, and eligible for full benefits.
On a yearly average, our Communications team answers and re-directs over 1 million incoming telephone calls to the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, providing limited patient, department, and on-call schedule information as requested by callers. As the Communications Lead Page Operator, you will process routine and emergency calls, activate and dispatch emergency response personnel for all hospital and ambulatory area emergencies and disasters, handle calls for Faculty Answering Service clients, handle overflow call support for the Customer Care line, and handle routine and emergency calls for the Health System Support Services Center. You will also monitor and report various Emergency Alarm Systems as well as triage and report all Elevator Malfunctions and process urgent messages for the Radiology Department for Critical Test Results. As the first point of contact for incoming calls to the medical center, it is expected that all Customer Service Initiatives are followed and adhered to at all time. It is also expected that all departmental and hospital policies, which include Operational, Technical and Emergency protocols, are followed.
In addition, your duties will include, but not be limited to, overseeing operations in the absence of a supervisor and handling walk-in issues, complaints, and any other daily supervisory tasks.
Qualifications
Experience working in a fast-paced, high call volume setting (Call Center experience preferred)
Management or leadership experience preferred
Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills (ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels)
Strong customer service experience/skills
Understanding of how to identify and escalate priority issues
Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays and night shift when necessary
Ability to perform repetitive tasks while sitting at a computer workstation for an extended period of time
Proficient in operating a PC and navigating the Internet
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
