The City of Orange is seeking it’s next Crime Analyst. This is your opportunity to provide invaluable assistance to support the Orange Police Department in its mission to make Orange a safe place to live, work and play. The successful candidate will perform varied analytical support related to crime and criminal intelligence; research, collect, analyze, and disseminate statistical information and reports to departmental management used in making operational changes and decisions.

BENEFITS FOR OUR SENIOR MANAGEMENT TEAM
The City of Orange provides a generous array of benefits to employees in addition to maintaining competitive salaries. All Senior Management Team employees are employed “At-Will.” Benefits are prorated for part-time employees working from 20 to 35 hours per week.
The following is a partial list of benefits:
Salary Range. Salary Ranges are composed of six (6) steps, each approximately five percent (5%) apart. Advancements through the steps are generally made yearly and based on performance. Money Purchase Retirement Plan. The City contributes an additional three percent (3%) on top of salary which can be taken as cash or placed into a 401(a) Deferred Compensation Plan.
Social Security. Employees do not contribute into Social Security. Medicare. The City pays for the employee’s portion of the required Medicare contribution, which is 1.45% of salary. Retirement Benefits. Retirement benefits are provided by the California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS), including the City’s contribution toward the Fourth Level Survivor’s Benefit. An employee who is a “Classic” Member of CalPERS or a current member of another California public retirement system who is hired on or after January 1, 2013, will be enrolled in the CalPERS 2.7% @ age 55 benefit formula with one year final compensation. “Classic” CalPERS members contribute 8.00% of pension reportable salary on a pre-tax basis for this retirement benefit. Effective January 1, 2013, newly hired non-safety employees who are “New” CalPERS Members, as defined by the Public Employees’ Pension Reform Act of 2013 (“PEPRA”), will be enrolled in the CalPERS 2% @ age 62 defined benefit plan with three year final compensation in accordance with the PEPRA. New Members will be required to pay 6.75% of pension reportable salary as their full share of their member contribution. Retirement Health Savings Plan (RHSP). The cash value of unused floating holiday hours and administrative leave hours will be contributed annually on a tax-deferred basis to be used for employee medical expenses upon retirement. Cafeteria Benefits Plan. The City pays $1,880 per month which can be applied towards medical, dental, or vision insurances, and/or taken as cash under certain criteria. Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance. A variety of medical insurance plans are available through the PERS Health Benefits program. Life Insurance. The City provides a term life insurance policy of $75,000. Vacation. Senior Management employees earn 104 hours of vacation during the first year of service, and an increasing accrual annually up to 244 hours per year after 30 years of service. Holidays. The City observes 9½ paid fixed holidays and provides 22.5 hours of floating holiday annually. The City also typically closes its operations between Christmas and New Year’s Day each year. Administrative Leave. Senior Management employees receive 63 hours of paid administrative leave annually. Sick Leave. Sick leave is accrued at a rate of 96 hours per year. Employees are eligible to convert a portion of unused sick leave to vacation on an annual basis. The City also contributes 50% of accumulated unused sick leave to the employee’s RHSP for City employees who retire from the City. Educational Incentive Program. Employees who possess a postgraduate degree or higher are eligible to receive $500 per month. Other Benefits. Most employees work a “9/80” alternate work schedule with City Hall closures every other Friday. Safety employees work a “4/10” schedule with every Friday off; Long Term Disability; Wellness Reimbursement up to $550 per year; Professional Development Reimbursement up to $800 per year; Employee Assistance Program; Tuition Reimbursement (up to $1,500/fiscal year); Trip Reduction Program incentives; optional Deferred Compensation programs; and Credit Union membership are a few of the additional benefits provided and/or available to employees.
