Position Description:
UCLA External Affairs (EA) maintains the database of record for all private support given to the University. Advancement Services performs vital administrative, financial, and technology services to EA departments as well as facilitates and supports the broad range of its customers’ activities through a variety of value-added services such as data governance and gift processing. The UCLA CRM database comprises a cumulative record of all alumni and non-alumni donors and prospects, including all biographic and degree information, gifts, areas of giving, and purpose for which the gifts were given. Our fundraising and advocacy efforts rely on the integrity and accuracy of gift and biographical information entered into this complex database.
Under the general direction of the Chief Administrative Officer, the Director of Gift & Data Services oversees development, implementation and management of programs to ensure the quality, accuracy, completeness and integrity of the gift, membership, recognition, and biographic data entered into and maintained in the University’s Alumni and Donor database. This individual will oversee the functions of data governance, quality assurance and gift processing, and will be responsible for developing goals and setting operational standards within Gift and Data Services. Gift and biographic information are at the heart of the UCLA alumni and donor database and provide the basis for high quality stewardship. The Director oversees the staff and the processes that keep the database accurate and up to date. A key aspect of this position is to provide leadership and strategic direction to a) deliver quality gift and data processing, b) strengthen existing controls, c) evaluate and implement new and existing business rules. In addition, the Director further provides leadership, vision, and experience to the Advancement Services department’s overall strategic planning process and is a member of the Advancement Services management team.
