Job Description : Position Summary:
Established in 2008, Sift Dessert Bar is a dessert shop made for gifting, treating and celebrating. We are actively seeking a growth minded Director of Operations to not only manage the daily operations and profitability of our three Northern CA locations and central bakery but to lead us through our next phase of growth through nationwide franchising. This key leader will guide the business into a new era of operational excellence while implementing our expansion plan and developing our dream team or co-stars. The Director of Operations will act as liaison between the home office and retail store management.
The ideal candidate is a GSD that is laser focused on identifying areas for improvement, developing operations, driving profitability, and growing company culture throughout the organization. If you love metrics, developing teams, leading by example, creating operational efficiencies and putting smiles on faces, we want to meet you!
This is a senior level position that reports directly to the owners.
Responsibilities

Responsible for managing the daily operations, production and profitability of our group of 3 corporate owned retail stores and baking facility
Work directly with owners to identify opportunities and develop strategies to ensure company growth and expansion
Mentor managers on how better to understand financial data and how to use that data to operate more efficiently.
Execute, support and facilitate the operational development of new company owned stores and franchisees
Ensure constructive communication occurs between store managers and the central commissary team.
Provide feedback and mentor General Managers and Chef’s on how to perform reviews, write ups, and disciplinary actions related to coaching and counseling.
Ultimate responsibility of management-level development and talent acquisition in order to achieve and maintain district operational requirements
Develop the team and provide paths for growth within the company (MIT)
Grow company culture and Sift Core Values
Visit and review stores weekly/monthly/quarterly through a detailed scoring system, secret shoppers, and KPIs to identify problems and opportunities
Ensure adherence to applicable wage and hour laws
Coordination/creation/implementation of new franchisee training content (documents, videos, manuals, etc.)
Create/implement local store marketing plans to enhance community relations.
Constantly look for new ways to show appreciation to our team members.
Propose compensation packages that are competitive with the current markets
Standardize and streamline hiring, disciplinary actions, performance evaluations, and rate of pay/position changes across all Sift locations.
Be directly responsible for the recruitment and hiring of upper level Management at each Sift location. This includes conducting interviews, stages, and discussion of compensation and benefits. Final hiring decisions to be made in conjunction with ownership input.

Qualifications

Director of Ops, District Manager, or equivalent level position (3+ years)
Retail food management experience (5+ years)
Experience analyzing financial reports
Experience in a multi-unit environment
Experience in new store openings and roll-outs
Willingness to travel to all company locations and travel nationwide for franchisee support
Franchise experience preferred

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to implement macro strategies on a store level to meet corporate goals

Pay: $85,000.00 – $125,000.00 per year
