Responsibilities:
SRI Education is committed to bringing rigorous and equitable research and evaluation data to bear on important educational policy and practice decisions that ultimately benefit practitioners, students, and families. We are seeking to hire an entry level Research Assistant to join our team to support projects focused on early childhood, early intervention/early childhood special education, K-12 education, student behavior and well-being, and children and youth with disabilities.
Job responsibilities include:
Provide general project support (e.g., create and maintain project documents and databases, prepare project materials and mailings, maintain project files, scrub and archive data, conduct literature reviews and web searches, communicate/schedule appointments with schools/research subjects and partners, compile meeting notes)
Participate in data collection activities (e.g., classroom observations, child assessments, surveys, interviews. focus groups) according to established protocols
Assist in data entry, cleaning, and coding
Prepare written documents and training materials
Compile quantitative and qualitative data into tables, charts, and graphs
Contribute to an environment supporting diversity, equity, inclusiveness, and belonging
Grow professionally and develop new skills through ongoing project embedded mentorship and professional development opportunities
Qualifications:
B.A. in child development, education, early childhood education, psychology or developmental psychology, social work, social welfare, public health, or a related discipline
Capacity to support multiple tasks simultaneously and ability to change focus as priorities shift
Demonstrated ability to problem solve and ensure high quality through attention to details and requirements
Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing
Previous experience and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively
Knowledge of Word, Excel, and Power Point and the desire to learn new software skills and applications
A commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belongingness both in research and in the workplace
Candidates with the following qualifications preferred:
Research, professional, or volunteer experience in or with the U.S. public PreK–16 education system working with Black or African American, Latinx or Hispanic students, students with disabilities, and/or students and families with limited financial means
Oral and written proficiency in Spanish and additional languages other than English
