We are looking for a Freelance Webnovel Proofreader to bring popular Korean original content to Gen-Z and Millennial audiences in our English-speaking target markets. A qualified candidate is an avid online novel reader with proofreading/editing experience, an excellent grasp of the nuances of both English and Korean, and a strong understanding of royal fantasy fiction.
The Freelance Webnovel Proofreader will review, edit, and provide feedback on translated content, explaining cultural nuances as well as making suggestions that will contribute to the consistency and accuracy of all content on our platform. The Freelance Webnovel Proofreader has demonstrated talent for capturing and conveying nuances in the source content to our English-speaking users. They will proactively communicate with the Localization team on project status and prioritize multiple projects with tight turnaround times.
Essential Duties
Performs final editing of popular novel series from Korea
Ensures delivery of quality content by the deadline
Communicates promptly with the Localization Team
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of one-year professional experience in proofreading creative content and/or translating content from Korean to English
Well-versed in romance fantasy novels (royal, Middle-Age themes)
Able to grasp nuances of both English and Korean
Able to proofread/edit translations for the intended purpose and audience
Extreme attention to detail and accuracy
Self-starter and ahead of the game
Experience in copywriting is a plus
