Position : GM Dealership Parts Counterperson

Job Description : Alfred Matthews parts department is looking for a qualified person to fill a back counter position. GM parts department experience required or other dealership experience will be considered. This is not an entry level position. Person must have strong knowledge working with service techs on a daily basis. Understand parts catalog, be proficient in filling P&As by looking up requests accurately, billing parts to ROs correctly, and pulling parts to fill requests in a timely manor. Answering phones and other duties are to be completed as required.

Job-Specific Expectations
Sells parts to all customers, over the counter, through the shop, or on the phone.
Assist all customers (retail and shop) in selecting required parts in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner.
Informs customers of companion part requirements and specials, and ensures that the customer is exposed to the full product line.
Answers phone calls, providing price quotes and other information.
Review Body Shop estimates to be sure the parts that are ordered are correct and all pricing is in line with the estimate.
Pulls and fills orders from stock
Notifies parts manager of out of stock parts or shop materials that need immediate attention.
Keeps front and rear counter areas clean and uncluttered. Keeps computer terminals clean.
Participates in all training programs made available. Keeps current on new products and product updates.
Organize employees keep the parts and accessories department clean and efficient.
Meet budgeted expense and revenue goals.
Maintains professional appearance.
Estimate the expected time for receipt of back ordered parts, be realistic and clearly convey the time required to the customer. Prevent high customer expectations if expectations are not likely to be met.
Whenever appropriate, draw attention to any new merchandise, specials, and sales.Suggest additional products to supplement the customer’s initial purchase.
Keep special orders up to date. Make sure all special order parts on retail counter are pre-paid or there is a deposit.
Follow all procedures on returns pertaining to any part.
Make follow up phone calls notifing customers parts order is complete.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 – $27.00 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

Modesto, CA 95356: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)

Education:

High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

GM Dealership or other OEM Dealership Parts: 3 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:

Driver’s License (Preferred)
Forklift Certification (Preferred)
