The City of Vacaville invites applications for the position of Housing Services Technician I in our Housing Services Department. Currently, one (1) full time vacancy exists. This recruitment will also be used to establish a list for possible future full-time, limited-term and part-time vacancies over the next twelve (12) month period.
Housing Services Technician I performs client relations and verifies eligibility of low-income families for a wide variety of housing and other related programs of the City. The Housing Services Technician I is an entry-level, paraprofessional position in the Housing Services Technician series.

ABOUT YOUThe ideal candidate will have knowledge of interviewing and counseling techniques; basic mathematical principles; English usage, spelling, vocabulary, grammar, and punctuation; modern office procedures and practices and have experience in:
*Reviewing applications and/or documents for eligibility; and

Case/account management.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSAny combination of education and experience that would provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Education: Completion of the twelfth grade or equivalent.
Experience: Three years of experience in general clerical work required. Experience in Housing Authority or Social/Human Services Agency preferred. Ability to communicate in Spanish is desirable.
LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE
Possession of a valid California Class C Driver’s License and a satisfactory driving record are conditions of initial and continued employment.
