Job Description : The CompanyTekify Fiber & Wireless is an internet service provider that provides high-speed internet services to business and residential customers in Fremont, Newark, Union City, and Hayward. We are among the fastest alternative ISP’s available in this area. The company is growing rapidly and we are looking to bring in additional help. There is a lot of room for growth for the right candidate.
The PositionWe are looking for an experienced Field Technician to join our organization. The position requires a thorough understanding of low-voltage Cat5e/Cat6 and fiber cabling, Ethernet computer networks, scheduling, work order management, hand and power tools, customer service, and technical troubleshooting methodologies. Extensive hands-on experience with low-voltage systems and experience as a field technican is mandatory.
Candidates must also have the ability to effectively communicate and document their work.
A Field Technician specializes in installing, cabling, disconnecting, troubleshooting, and maintaining equipment used to provide our customers with wireless and fiber optic internet services. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week).
This is a customer-service role; you MUST be able to provide great customer service to our customers and fellow staff!
RequirementsThis person must model our company values, provide outstanding customer service, and work with our entire team to exceed customer expectations. Must have great oral and written communication skills, and must present in a very professional manner.

Must be comfortable working in a small business/start-up environment with many dynamic and changing duties
Must be experienced with technical troubleshooting methods and processes
Must have an excellent understanding of Cat5e/Cat6 cabling installation
Must be able to carry and climb ladders and access rooftops of all types and perform job duties from high places. Should not be afraid of heights.
Must have excellent English communication skills (oral and written), interpersonal, and organizational skills
Must have the ability to perform mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, averaging, percentages, etc.
Must have a mechanical aptitude, and the ability to troubleshoot technical and mechanical problems.
Must be able to work independently or as part of a small team
Must have the ability to operate hand tools, including but not limited to: step and extension ladders, power tools, hammers, wrenches, etc.
Must be able to occasionally carry up to 75 pounds
Must pass a drug screening test and a criminal background check
Must have a valid California Driver’s License with a clean history
Must have a minimum of 3 years of field technician experience

The ideal candidate brings a high-energy can-do attitude to work each day. The qualifications listed below indicate the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to be successful.
Previous experience working in a similar capacity at an ISP, phone company, alarm company, cable company, or low-voltage cabling business is desired.
Responsibilities

Play an active role in the deployment and support of our wireless and fiber optic networks. Assist staff with all technical and installation needs.
Respond to support requests and perform troubleshooting for RF, IP and physical hardware/cabling issues in order to resolve service issues in a timely manner.
Program and deploy routers, switches, and wireless radio equipment
Install new services at customer locations
Perform network maintenance and monitoring duties
Perform maintenance at tower and datacenter locations
Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to respond to after-hours network-related issues
Update network diagrams and documentation as necessary
Engage in meetings on customer support, network operations processes, procedures, and future planning strategies
Work alongside existing staff to design, provision, upgrade, expand, and support the network
Independently perform site surveys and complete installations and upgrades at customer sites.
Assemble and install non-penetrating roof mounts and wall mounts, cabinets, and equipment racks.
Complete cabling and conduit installations (run and terminate cables, including Cat5e/6, low-voltage power, and fiber).
Mount and align microwave radio equipment.
Be able to complete post installation documentation, perform inspections, and recommend corrective action in a written, well-documented manner
Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with customers contacted in the course of performing assigned duties
Present professional and courteous behavior at all times
Must be able to effectively execute duties with minimum direction or supervision while working well with others
Be able to plan, prioritize and organize duties and responsibilities accordingly
Maintain a safe and clean work environment while performing duties
Be able to self-manage your time and scheduling in order to complete all duties in a timely manner

This position is great for someone who is mechanically oriented, enjoys frequent technical challenges, is self-motivated and capable of working individually, has extensive experience in a field technican role, and is passionate about delivering a better broadband service experience than what is traditionally available from other providers.

A Network Field Technician is placed on a 90-day probationary period during which they will receive extensive training and testing to build and validate their skills.

A company vehicle and tools are provided for use on the job.
Compensation is dependent on experience and skills.

Pay: $5,500.00 – $8,000.00 per month
