Job Description : MAINTENANCE
The position is at a small hotel on the beach. One of the nice things about this job is that it is in a small resort beach setting. It is also nice to have a variety of tasks to do. We shall provide essential training or guidance in: painting, carpet cleaning, plumbing, electrical, minor repairs, tools, trouble shooting, and carpentry.
PAINTING: We are currently outdoors caulking and painting the balcony railings.
CARPET CLEANING: We routinely clean the carpets to keep our rooms fresh and clean. We have our own machine. It is kind of fun.
MAINTENANCE: This is an opportunity to practice skills (or in many areas to receive on-the-job training) in all phases of hotel maintenance: painting, plastering, plumbing, repairing appliances, communications, swimming pool maintenance, carpet cleaning, minor electrical, carpentry, etc.. If a candidate already has experience in a particular skill, then wonderful! We are looking for a great attitude and willingness to work as well as a quick learner. We want someone who gets gratification about getting tasks done and doing a great job.
The ultimate goal is to be a Hotel Maintenance Technician which requires a diverse mix of skills, including:

Plumbing knowledge to address leaks, clogs or other drainage problems. There is an opportunity to learn a lot about this.

Painting often, as this building is on the ocean and needs a lot of maintenance
Carpet cleaning 4 hours a week
Electrical repair capabilities to manage minor problems with the building’s electricity. We shall train to do minor repairs safely.
Carpentry ability to handle basic repairs around the building
Groundskeeping if the facility contains lawns, a swimming pool and other outdoor areas in need of maintenance
Interpersonal skills to interact with employees or guests of the building in a pleasant and professional manner
Attention to detail to ensure that all jobs are completed in an exemplary manner and any potential hazards or warning signs of problems are not overlooked
Physical stamina to handle a full shift of being active and working on the building
Understand the company’s policy on work shifts, guest’s possessions and privacy issues
