Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. (NYSE:APD), a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases, has openings for entry level and experienced Operations Technicians at its two Martinez, CA facility.

The Martinez HYCO, hydrogen manufacturing facilities are located on two refineries in Martinez. The facilities consist of four (4) SMR (steam methane reformers) units and associated equipment supporting two refinery customers.

The Operations Technician will be responsible for:

Day to Day control and monitoring the processes to produce hydrogen, which includes operating and controlling the following:
Furnaces
Compressors
DCS monitoring systems
Rotating Equipment
Catalyst Reactors
Water Treatment Systems (Boiler and Cooling Water Systems)
Pneumatically Operated and Manual Valves
Pressure Swing Adsorption skid

Troubleshoot, respond to operating conditions, respond to customer order rates, and process optimization
Complete operator rounds, execute minor preventative maintenance, and support mechanical and instrumentation maintenance and projects
Permit work in the field and monitor contract partners
Participate in Process Safety and Personnel Safety programs and execute site policies and regulations.
Qualifications:

Applicants must have a HS diploma or equivalent.
2-years’ experience in a manufacturing or production environment with chemical processing or petrochemical preferred
An associates degree in Process Technology or Engineering is advantageous and may be considered in lieu of experience
A strong commitment to safety, working as a team, and operational excellence
A self-starter with a strong work ethic
Able to work 12hr rotating shift schedule to support the 24/7 operation of the units
