Job Description : Job Title: Payroll Analyst – North America
Location: Ventura, CA; Reno, NV; or Remote
Reports to: Payroll Manager

Under the guidance of the Payroll Manager and Sr. Payroll Analyst, the Payroll Analyst supports the activities relating to Company payroll for North America. The Payroll Analyst follows internal processes and is well versed in federal, state, and local wage and hour laws and compliance. The Payroll Analyst has overall responsibility for review of accurate time tracking and paid time off usage. They will be responsible for payment processes involving bi-weekly payroll, off-cycle payment requests, bonus, and termination check processing and other payroll related duties.
What You’ll Do:
Process full cycle, multi-state, payroll for exempt and/or non-exempt employees including verifying timesheets and validating payroll for accuracy.
Perform pre-payroll checklists to minimize processing failures/errors.
Perform bi-weekly payroll audits; address and identify solutions to accuracy and compliance.
Work with the Payroll team and the Digital Solutions team to ensure compliancy with federal, state, and local overtime and payroll regulations.
Address payroll inquiries in a timely manner and ensure accurate resolutions.
Process off cycle checks as required.
Process termination checks, send payslips and other required notices in timeframe required per state regulations.
Produce scheduled and as needed reports pertaining to payroll.
Produce assigned statutory reporting.
Work closely with the Health and Wellness team to ensure benefit deductions are applied and accounted for properly.
Partner with the Accounting department to ensure accurate postings to the general ledger, investigate inaccuracies, and when needed, assist with corrective processes.
Engage in cross-training assignments and become proficient in all tasks and activities performed by the Payroll department.
Apply knowledge of labor laws and payroll tax laws to applicable duties and engage Payroll leadership on those areas of compliance where guidance and insight is needed.
Apply knowledge of labor laws and payroll tax laws to make recommendations for compliance and ways to implement process improvements.
Assist with Global payrolls as requested and required.
Respond to unemployment claims and employment verification inquiries from third party administrator in a timely manner.
Process all payroll transactions and service requests in a timely manner, includes routine and unexpected/unplanned for transactions.
Work closely with accounting for year-end audits (payroll, Workers Comp, 401k, etc.), provide requested documentation.
Work closely with payroll team to identify areas where process improvement and efficiencies are needed and assist with implementation.
Assist with special projects as requested.

Experience You’ll Bring:
3 – 5+ years work experience including knowledge of payroll practices, wage and hour law and compliance, payroll tax compliance, and basic human resources preferred.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field, or a combination of education and equivalent work experience.
Multi-state payroll processing.
Workday Payroll experience preferred.
Workday Time and Absence experience a plus.
ADP SmartCompliance experience a plus.
Strong computer skills required (Word, Outlook, advanced Excel).
Interpersonal skills and ability to interact and with staff at all levels.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work in a team environment.
