Job Description : Atlas Advisors, LLC (ATLAS) is looking for highly qualified Persian Farsi Language Experts to serve in support of the Department of State Near Eastern Affairs (NEA) and International Relations (IR) Group. Ideal candidates will have near-native language ability (ILR 4 or higher), prior experience working for the US Government, experience working in or education in Iran, and professional experience with strategic media engagement.ATLAS is offering a $5000 signing bonus or relocation incentive.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS PERSIAN FARSI LANGUAGE EXPERT
Active Secret clearance
Expertise in providing linguistic, cultural, and ethnic context for Persian Farsi publications
Expertise in anticipating meaning and intent of English to Persian Farsi translation for a varied, international audience
Subject Matter Expert on Iran including linguistic, historical, religious, ethnic, geographical, and political knowledge
Native or near-native Persian Farsi speaker (ILR 4 or higher)
Expertise in the Persian language online environment and knowledge of Persian culture and history
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS PERSIAN FARSI LANGUAGE EXPERT
Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited university
5 years experience in media, social media, or communications
Knowledge of and professional experience with social media platforms
Experience managing online content platforms
Experience and/or proficiency with multimedia production (video, audiovisual, graphics)
Experience living or working in Iran
Higher education from an Iranian university
Experience monitoring and reporting on foreign media
ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the United States Department of State Near Eastern Affairs and International Relations groups through the monitoring, creation, and implementation of social media information and interactions. Your linguistic expertise will be relied on to ensure messaging intent is accurately translated into Persian Farsi for an Iranian audience around the world. Historical, religious, ethnic, and political expertise will be required to properly convey US government policies and mission goals to the Iranian population in the Middle East.
