Job Description:
ERG is the largest independent clinical research site services company focused on special populations and is the market leader in CNS. With 18 wholly owned clinical sites, we conduct in-patient and out-patient phase I-IV clinical research studies. Our mission is to provide the highest quality execution of clinical trials in all clinical research phases aimed at helping sponsor companies to get their life saving or life enhancing drugs to market as quickly and safely as possible.
The Research Assistant is a skilled individual who will assist the assigned research staff to efficiently conduct patient visits in order to complete report forms and document specific clinical research trial information as defined by study protocols in accordance with FDA Guidelines, Good Clinical Practice, and ERG Standard Operating Procedures. This employee will represent the site as a Clinical Research Professional in all work activities, written and verbal communication and dress.
Responsibilities:
Assist with Research Subject Visits:

Familiarity of and compliance with pharmaceutical company research protocols for studies currently being conducted.
Familiarity of volunteer informed consent according to ERG policies. Understand the process by which the CRC obtains volunteer’s complete understanding of the informed Consent and documents his/her participation.
Assists in conducting clinical interviews (DSM V criteria, psychiatric interviews, and study specific ratings).
Communicates information concisely and effectively.
Ability to draw blood, process samples, take vital signs and perform ECGs.
Arrange meal service according to PRN policy for extended stay subjects.
Conducts satellite site activities, as necessary.
Participates in seminars, in-services, and outreach programs to educate professional and lay-communities.
Maintains confidentiality of all research files and data.

General Research Activities:

Attends Investigator start-up meetings and post study investigator meetings when required.
Monitor participants for side effects, adverse events and implement appropriate reporting to the assigned CRC
Reviews laboratory findings before presentation to physician and reports clinically significant or questionable values the CRC and/or staff MD.
Completes and maintains Source Documents, sponsor directed data capture systems, and internal subject visit sheets as directed by the CRC.
Potential Activities Related to Monitoring visits;

o Chart Preparation
o Review follow-up letters and completing open items
o Assist CRC in booking time to meet with the Monitor in order to resolve queries in real time.

Resolve queries from sponsors within the required timelines, as delegated
Daily activities delegated to RAs:

o Chart preparation day before subject scheduled visit
o Obtaining medical records
o Vitals, BP, ECG, and electronically transferring information
o Lab result follow-up/filing
o Subject phone calls (return calls, make calls, rescheduling, etc.)
o EDC completion
o Imaging tracking
o Scheduling
o Maintaining clean common areas
o 2nd Verifier of IP, procedures, and ICF review as back-up.
o CRC coverage (wherever possible) in the event of Vacation or Illness, etc.
NOTE: RA Duties as delegated are not the sole responsibility of the RAs; CRCs are expected to participate and complete the above tasks, as well, in order to guarantee a smooth operation and timely completion of tasks.
Other Functions:

Special Projects requiring after hours study activities, perform duties in an “on-call” situation (including weekends and evenings).
