Position Description:
Under the general direction of the laboratory Principal Investigator, the Staff Research Associate (SRA) will function as a main staff member of a team working on the analytic laboratory aspects of gene transfer clinical trials and lab support. SRA will be part of team performing Quality Control analyses of cell therapy products manufactured under Good Manufacturing Practices for Phase I trials. The position involves both hands on lab work (cell product release testing, patient sample processing, molecular and biochemical testing) and support of the Analytic team of the Kohn Gene Medicine Clinical Research operation including: order and maintain inventory of supplies and reagents; organize and maintain laboratory workspace including equipment; patient specimen organizing, logging, and inventory; prepare packages for shipping (including biological samples); and organize and maintain records associated with all the above duties. The SRA will also develop and perform laboratory research assays to support clinical trials. The SRA may be responsible for the supervision of SRA 1 team members (as available) and for working in coordination with other lab and clinical trial personnel.
