Your Impact:

The candidate will be a self-starter and will look for innovative solutions while accepting various challenges associated with solid rocket motor (SRM) manufacturing processes

This role includes the design, fabrication, and testing of composite materials ranging from basic material coupons to complex rocket components

The candidate will aid in the development of novel manufacturing techniques and test methods in support of advanced solid rocket propulsion technologies, working up through bench-level material processing to large scale article manufacture

The candidate will also help ensure facility compliance through tasks such as occasional equipment maintenance, safe material storage practices, and general laboratory cleanliness

This role may also require occasional handling of solid rocket propellant, which is classified as a Class 1, Division 3 explosive

MUST BE A US CITIZEN

Here’s What You’ll Need:

Ability to operate basic hand/power tools (e.g. drills, saws); experience using larger machines (e.g. drill press, lathes, mills) preferred

Knowledge of fiber reinforced polymer composite materials such as carbon, aramid, and/or glass fiber

Basic knowledge of composite specimen manufacture (vacuum bagging, compression molding, hand layup) and associated mechanical testing (tensile/compression of coupons)

Experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) is preferred

Ability to pass a background check and obtain a security clearance

Must be a US citizen, with valid driver’s license
