Job Description : Responsibilities
Under the direction and supervision of the Director and the Analytics Manager of the Clinical Research Information System, the System Analyst will serve as an expert for the OnCore Clinical Research Management System (CRMS) and clinical research workflows, with a specialized focus on Business Intelligence and Analytics. In this role, you will design and develop the Clinical Research Data Mart, which combines data from OnCore, webIRB, G/L and EPIC, using ETL tools and SQL Programming, and you will be responsible for optimization and performance tuning of the Data Mart. In addition, you will analyze functionality in new releases and test each new release and patch. You will function as a primary contact to troubleshoot problems and questions from end-users during training, go-live and stabilization periods, working in conjunction with the CC-Research team, the Office of Health Informatics & Analytics (OHIA) and other teams within the UCLA Health IT group. You will build, configure and test external interfaces, including those for the Epic electronic health record platform.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or related field and/or equivalent training/experience
2+ years of related work/project experience
Strong experience in Oracle SQL development/Microsoft SQL Server
Strong knowledge about ETL process and design/data modeling
Previous experience with BI tool implementation and management
Strong knowledge of Tableau dashboards
Previous experience working in clinical research is preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
